- ➤ The Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia are now accepting cookie pre-orders featuring a new Rocky Road-inspired flavor called Exploremores for $5 a box, joining favorites like Thin Mints and Do-Si-dos. Orders placed by Monday, Jan. 12 will support local troop projects and community adventures. WGXA
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Houston County boys basketball, led by Coach Buddy Bivins, won 79-63 in their first region game and are considered favorites in Region 2-5A. Coach Bivins said the team must continue to improve + stay grounded as they aim for a championship. The Houston Home Journal
- ➤ Former Houston County quarterback Antwann Hill Jr. will join Arkansas Razorbacks in the SEC for the 2026 season following a brief stint at Memphis. Former Perry receiver Kory Pettigrew has planned to transfer to an SEC program with his high school coach, marking early moves among Central Georgia athletes. 13WMAZ
