  • Warner Robins completed a two-year downtown placemaking program that updated Commercial Circle with public art, feedback signs and practical strategies. The Georgia Economic Placemaking Collaborative gave local staff fresh insights that will guide future redevelopment projects.  The Houston Home Journal

CULTURE NEWS

  • Film director Flip Archie of Innovizual Motion Pictures is set to direct his short film Bar Exam — a psychological thriller honoring '90s Black film culture — with a local 30-person crew filming in Macon and Warner Robins. Shooting starts in March and the film will debut in early-to-mid 2027.  WGXA

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The new Centerville recycling center is now serving residents at 2513 Elberta Road with expanded bins & drive-thru access. Operating on Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the facility was built with $350,000 in funding to meet growing demand across the county.  13WMAZ
  • The U.S. Drought Monitor map released yesterday shows most of Middle Georgia in moderate to severe drought — some western counties facing extreme dryness. Fire restrictions and low soil moisture may affect local agriculture until rainfall improves.  WGXA

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Councilmembers approved moving forward with relocating the Confederate monument from Perry City Hall to a new Legacy Park courtyard as part of the Legacy Park phase two plan. The bidding process will run for a month with project costs estimated at about $600,000 funded by the Recreation and Parks SPLOST.  The Houston Home Journal

SPORTS NEWS

  • Houston County senior Isaiah Galason, now at shortstop and having added 15 pounds during the offseason, drew national attention entering his final high school season and posted two hits, one RBI, and three runs in the opener against Warner Robins + he committed to Georgia Tech.  The Houston Home Journal
  • Warner Robins fell 64-62 to Wayne County in a tightly contested Region 1-4A semifinal on Wednesday as fatigue and turnovers cost the Demons the win. The team will play in a consolation game today at 5:30 p.m.—the loss highlights a need for better defense before the state tournament.  The Houston Home Journal
