CULTURE NEWS

  • The Warner Robins Community Concert Association will host its Hot Club Jazz Fellowship on Sunday, March 1 at 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church (205 North Davis Drive) where jazz organist Matthew Kaminski and his ensemble will perform Parisian-style jazz standards and ballads.  The Houston Home Journal

SPORTS NEWS

  • Veterans lost 9-7 to West Laurens on Monday night as errors and walks hurt their performance (three errors and six walks noted) and coach Jeff Sans praised junior infielder Ethan Scott for his efforts (Veterans will face Perry on Feb. 19 at 7 p.m.).  The Houston Home Journal
  • Houston County boys won the Region 2-5A championship with a 64-54 overtime victory (their win followed a one-point triumph over Veterans), while Warner Robins Demonettes earned their first region title in three years with a 60-30 win over Wayne County on Friday. Both teams will enter the state tournament next week.  The Houston Home Journal
