ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Drought continues to impact Middle Georgia, including areas around Warner Robins, as low rainfall threatens crops, streamflows, and soil moisture. Experts say the region will need at least 4 to 8 inches of steady rain — spread over several weeks — for relief. WGXA

- ➤ The City of Warner Robins warned residents after two alligator sightings were reported at Walker’s Pond on March 5 and has posted warning signs, advising caution near the water’s edge (the Georgia Department of Natural Resources was notified). WGXA
- ➤ The Emergency Management Agency is updating its Pre-Disaster Hazard Mitigation Plan and invites local input to identify hazards and improve readiness — the next public meeting is set for Monday, Mar. 9 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Commission Chambers at City Hall. WGXA
