- ➤ Dr. Margaret Queen-Flowers founded Genesis Joy House in 2011 to provide transitional housing for homeless female veterans and their dependent children. She recently retired while the shelter continues helping local women — a lasting legacy in the community. The Houston Home Journal
- ➤ Houston County Habitat for Humanity hosted a ribbon-cutting Monday for the Roberson family's new home at 1336 Pierce St. in Perry, sponsored by Parrish Construction. The nonprofit will close on the three-bedroom, two-bath house by next Wednesday before the family moves in. The Houston Home Journal

- ➤ After overnight storms damaged local neighborhoods, the American Red Cross is urging Middle Georgia residents to prepare for more severe weather; cleanup is underway in affected areas and additional storms are expected soon. WPGA

- ➤ Central Georgia Tech Women’s basketball reached a milestone by earning its first NJCAA tournament bid after winning the GCAA championship — the Titans will face State Fair Community College on March 25 at 11 a.m. in the opening round. 13WMAZ
