- ➤ Mrs. Bailey Shain at Tucker Elementary is honored as this week’s My Teacher is Tops for her dedication — she began teaching first grade this year and was praised by a student for making the classroom a happy place. 13WMAZ
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ During Tuesday's board meeting at the county courthouse, Reverend Tom Carruth of Perry United Methodist Church spoke on community values while Emory Healthcare highlighted $2 million in ARPA funds used for upgrading imaging equipment. Commissioners also approved a digital update of the county website (due by April 24). The Houston Home Journal
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Westfield lost their district opener 14-3 to Calvary Christian after eight errors in the third inning led to 10 runs, and head coach Ryan Wetherington (who expects the team to rebound at the doubleheader today at 5 p.m.) said they will work on tightening their defense. The Houston Home Journal
- ➤ The Lady Panthers won 10-0 over New Hampstead in a game with only 32 minutes of play on Wednesday — substitutions ended the game early and set up a mercy rule finish. Perry will host Ware County tomorrow at 5 p.m. The Houston Home Journal
- ➤ Paradigm MMA opened its doors last weekend along Highway 96 in Warner Robins to offer training for people of all ages and build a supportive community. Co-owners Jesse James Wallace and Izzy Arlott aim to empower every participant (from beginners to advanced fighters) through disciplined practice. WGXA
