- ➤ A Warner Robins mother collected 28,000 signatures on a petition calling for hands-on autism training for law enforcement after a 2022 traffic stop involving her nonverbal son. She hopes her Project BAAM—A Better Approach to Autism and Mental Health—will lead local agencies like the Houston County Sheriff's Office and Warner Robins Police Department to adopt new training and eventually pass statewide legislation. 13WMAZ
- ➤ Warner Robins mayoral candidate Fabian Velazquez says rising crime, poor school conditions, and high housing costs have shown the city needs a new plan. He is running a self-funded campaign (he believes 5.4 million spent on downtown projects could be better used to improve neighborhoods) that will focus on a complete change for the city. WGXA
