At Robins Air Force Base, children celebrated Purple Up Day on April 15 by making tie-dye shirts while the youth center hosted activities for Month of the Military Child.

The center offers programs like school care, teen programs, and sports — and local groups including the City of Warner Robins and Texas Roadhouse provided extra support for military families.

Warner Robins police were called Friday at about 2:20 p.m. to a home on Sun Valley Drive when a live hand grenade was found in a used truck toolbox — the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Explosive Unit confirmed the explosive was active and secured the area.

School officials and local leaders broke ground on a new Veterans Middle School on Piney Grove Road in Kathleen—funded by E-SPLOST to ease overcrowding at Perry and Bonaire Middle Schools.

The school will feature 60 classrooms, a gym, a media center, and athletic facilities, and will open by fall 2027.

Officials detailed cleanup after a 15-inch sewer line near Holiday Riviera Mobile Home Park broke on April 14, releasing nearly one million gallons when a tree fell and a creek bank collapsed; crews have reclaimed about 90% of the spill and will reroute the pipes for an estimated $290,000. They also discussed sidewalk projects along Lake Joy Road and recognized community observances during a pre-council meeting on April 24.
