- ➤ On April 30, a diverse group of community members gathered at Perkins Field in Warner Robins to protest U.S. Congressman Austin Scott’s absence and express concerns about immigration policies. Protest organizer Taiyah Lockett said they marched to City Hall and called for a town hall meeting to ensure local voices were heard. The Houston Home Journal
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Georgia Environmental Protection Division announced the Summer Open Burning Ban effective today through September 30 to reduce air pollution in 54 counties, including 12 in Middle Georgia (exemptions do not apply in the metro Atlanta non-attainment area), and warned that violators may face fines. - ➤ The Centerville Police Department will hold a Records Restriction Opportunity on June 7 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Centerville Community Room at 300 East Church Street for those whose charges were dismissed, nolle prossed or who were found not guilty + the process does not apply to individuals who pleaded guilty or were convicted.
