  • Families at Stonehenge Apartments lost their homes in a fire and are still charged rent—state law says they should not pay for an uninhabitable unit. Some tenants had to seek legal help to get refunds while management has not commented on the complaints—leaving residents frustrated by the situation.  13WMAZ

  • The Houston County Galleria Mall is on sale for $26 million and may see a change in its long-time role as a primary shopping center. Business owners and shoppers noted a drop in foot traffic and vacant storefronts — they hope new ownership will revitalize the mall.  13WMAZ

CRIME NEWS

  • Falon Graham—remembered as kind—died after sustaining two gunshot wounds to her abdomen at a home on Willis Creek Road early Friday morning; her husband Antonio Mendy was arrested at the scene.  WGXA
  • Police say 39-year-old Falon Graham was fatally shot at a house on the 100 block of Willis Creek Road in Warner Robins early Friday morning on May 2 and 43-year-old Antonio Mendy was arrested in connection with the domestic incident.  The Houston Home Journal
  • Warner Robins Police arrested a suspect linked to a hit-and-run that left a pedestrian with fractured legs last week on Myrtle Street between Duke Avenue and Green Street—investigation remains ongoing.  WGXA

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Warner Robins Animal Control closed its shelter on Friday after the sudden loss of longtime officer Jill Pearce — who served for nearly 20 years— and is asking the community to keep her family in their thoughts while managing emergency calls through their hotline.  WGXA
  • GDOT announced that nightly lane closures on I-16 eastbound and westbound near the I-16/I-75 interchange will occur from Monday, May 5 to Friday, May 9 between Spring Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd/Coliseum Dr from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.—drivers should plan extra travel time. A law enforcement vehicle will be on site each night to pace traffic.  WGXA
