EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Houston County School District broke ground on its new STEM and Career Academy on May 1 at 3150 North Highway 41 to create a 113,000 sqft facility that will offer advanced labs, healthcare education, and dual enrollment courses, and it is expected to finish in August 2027. - ➤ Dawn Knapek, a Perry High chemistry teacher, is retiring after more than two decades as Teacher Appreciation Week begins. Houston County School District will honor her and 45 other educators at an annual banquet. 13WMAZ
