  • Residents at an Ola Drive apartment complex have faced sewage backup and overpowering odor issues for three years, and crews drained a full septic tank today to ease the immediate overflow + tenants demand permanent repairs as temporary fixes continue to fall short.  13WMAZ

CULTURE NEWS

  • Longtime Perry resident Kaitlyn Dryden published her debut novel Love Ya Mean It on April 20, drawing on the loss of her twin sister to tell a story of overcoming grief and finding hope (the book is available on Amazon while Dryden works on her second title).  The Houston Home Journal

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Middle Georgia high schools were named 2026 AP Honor Schools by the Georgia Department of Education based on 2025 AP scores, including Warner Robins High School. The honor recognizes students earning scores of 3, 4, or 5 on AP exams for college credit (per state guidelines).  41NBC
  • Houston County and Bibb County school systems reported that Canvas was hacked on Thursday, May 7, causing an interruption in classes until the system restored on Friday, May 8. Houston County said personal data remained safe while Bibb County urged families to ignore unknown links.  13WMAZ
