A benefit concert is set to support Tony Cooper, a Warner Robins native facing high medical costs, by raising donations at Society Garden in Macon’s Ingleside Village tomorrow at 6 p.m. with doors opening at 4 p.m. and free admission, raffle, plus a silent auction available.

Community members celebrated the ribbon cutting for Fairfield by Marriott Inn and Suites and TownPlace Suites by Marriott at the hotel near the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry on Wednesday, May 13.
The hotel offers dining, a pool, hot tub and gym — officials expect it to draw events.
Cynthia DuBose has been named executive director of the Georgia Trust for Local News and will lead the group's digital transformation starting June 1.
She brings years of journalism and management experience to guide the nonprofit's efforts to modernize local media.

Warner Robins city council approved an animal limitation waiver Monday night, allowing a disabled Navy veteran and his wife to exceed their six-animal limit to rescue Amir, a dog with heartworms facing euthanasia.
The family plans to pick up Amir and begin treatment as soon as possible.
