CRIME NEWS

  • A mother and her daughter were found dead in an apartment complex in Warner Robins on Sunday morning from a double homicide, and Houston County officials charged 29-year-old Rashad Williams— the mother's boyfriend— with two counts of murder.  WPGA

CULTURE NEWS

  • Warner Robins’ band Rehab, founded by local musician Danny Boone, will perform at the Independence Day Celebration on June 28 at McConnell Talbert Stadium—joining headliner Sheila E. and tribute band Reputation—as the free event will also feature food vendors, family activities, and a fireworks display.  13WMAZ

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Graduation ceremonies in Houston County for the Class of 2025 took place on May 16, 23 and 24 at several schools including Houston County High School and Northside High School - seniors received their diplomas and celebrated completing high school as they now look ahead to new challenges.  The Houston Home Journal

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Houston County Fire Department held a town hall meeting in Perry where Fire Chief Chris Stoner presented information about improvements in staffing, training and equipment along with data on call volumes and response times. The department held a second meeting on May 27 at the Houston County Annex to gather further community input on challenges such as volunteer shortages and after-hours coverage.  The Houston Home Journal

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Central Fellowship Christian girls soccer team won its second GIAA state title last Tuesday after beating Westminster Christian Lady Lions 2-1. Lois Tanner scored two penalty kick goals in five minutes while a strong defense kept a late goal off the board.  13WMAZ
