The Central Fellowship Christian Academy Lady Lancers won their third straight state title with a 5-0 win on Wednesday, while Stratford Academy broke a 13-year drought with an overtime 4-3 victory on Tuesday, finishing a perfect season.
Mercer Bears football is set to start their season with the FCS Kickoff game on August 29 at 7 p.m. at Five Star Stadium in Macon – the first such game outside Montgomery – on ESPN.
The season opener comes as Mercer enters its first season under coach Joel Taylor.
