- ➤ Houston County sheriff Matt Moulton warns that a text message scam from the Georgia Department of Driver Services is tricking locals by falsely claiming there is an unpaid ticket and asking for money via cryptocurrency kiosks or gift cards—he advises residents to delete the message immediately since no government agency will request payment this way. - ➤ Houston County law enforcement said five homicide cases involving 10 victims were linked to domestic and family violence across Warner Robins, Centerville—and Perry, urging residents to report any signs of change in behavior in loved ones. 41NBC
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Warner Robins Police Department will activate a Red Speed camera near Northside High School on June 9 during summer school hours to record vehicles traveling 11 mph over the limit from 7 to 9 a.m. Monday through Friday — the initiative is aimed at increasing safety for students and pedestrians. 41NBC
- ➤ The Bibb County Sheriff's Office announced it will activate school zone speed cameras for summer school from June 2 to June 26 and for safety camps—drivers exceeding the posted limit by at least 11 mph when yellow warning lights flash will be ticketed—at select campuses. Safety camps run June 16 to June 19 at Ballard-Hudson Middle and June 30 to July 3 at Weaver Middle. WGXA
