- ➤ Frank Wiley and Rena Laster said they were frustrated after a fire damaged their daughter's apartment at 613 Greenbriar Road and left them with limited access due to an ongoing investigation—last week they were allowed a two-hour visit and today they can return from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. as the damage worsens and they call for changes following the insurance inspection. - ➤ Local officers and Sheriff Matt Moulton joined Community Care Night at Chick-fil-A on May 29 to raise funds for 'The Oath'—a planned statue to honor law enforcement. Georgia Ambassador Steve Rodgers said the monument will be unveiled in May 2026 and additional events, including a music video, are being planned to support the project. The Houston Home Journal

- ➤ A Perry man, 44-year-old Edward Evans III, pleaded guilty to trafficking meth and was sentenced to 30 years in prison - 12 years without parole and 18 years on parole - after Perry Police found 32 grams of meth and several firearms at his home in 2024. WGXA
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Warner Robins Police Department will enforce red speed cameras near Northside High School from June 9 to 27 between 7-9 a.m. on weekdays — catching drivers who exceed the limit by 11 mph — and officers may check speeds near Huntington Middle School when possible. The Houston Home Journal
- ➤ Warner Robins Police Department received $45,000 from the city council today to upgrade equipment with new body cameras and radios and swore in three new officers to help fill a staffing shortage. The upgrades are expected to improve communication—addressing safety risks from outdated radios—and restore public confidence in law enforcement. 13WMAZ
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Emory Health Care and Houston Health Care finalized a partnership to expand access to quality health care in middle Georgia. The deal will invest in recruiting specialists and building new programs at Perry Houston Healthcare Hospital and in Houston County—bringing improved care to communities like Warner Robins. 41NBC
