CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Centerville Police Chief Cedric Duncan said the investigation into a car with swastikas and racial slurs painted on its side is nearly finished after the vehicle was towed from Houston County Galleria for having an expired tag and raising safety concerns; Warner Robins Mayor LaRhonda Patrick condemned the hate—calling it unacceptable—and said police will send the case file to the District Attorney’s Office for review. 13WMAZ

- ➤ Houston County Emergency Management is urging residents to sign up for Houston Alerts while Perry welcomed Joseph Duffy as its new Community Development Director and county commissioners approved opioid training with military software experts from Robins Air Force Base. In other news, Mike Smith was named Assistant District Attorney of the Year on July 20, a Warner Robins man pleaded guilty for heroin trafficking, an 18-year-old died after a Wednesday night shooting on S. Houston Lake Road, and Christopher Smith was sentenced to 40 years for fentanyl trafficking while the Warner Robins Little Theatre will present Steel Magnolias from July 12—27.
