- ➤ GBI is investigating a case after Warner Robins police went to the 100 block of Louis Street at 2:37 a.m. on Sunday for a domestic violence call, where 46-year-old Jesus Chavez-Ledesma shot at officers—set fire to a shed—and was taken to a nearby hospital; no officers were hurt. WGXA
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Brigadier General Christopher Lay assumed command of the Air Force Reserve Command Force Generation Center on August 2—replacing Brigadier General Kelvin McElroy, who retired after 31 years of service. Lay said he would work to support airmen and their families while highlighting Warner Robins’ strong backing for the center. The Houston Home Journal

- ➤ Maryann Davis, 24, has battled stage 5 kidney failure since age 10 and now urgently needs a kidney donor with blood type O or A after her list of potential donors shrank from 10 to 3, and her family with Lake Joy Trails of Terror will host a fundraiser on August 16 featuring a movie screening—Scream for Maryann—to raise funds for her treatment.
