- ➤ On Aug.20, Southwest Research Institute celebrated its first owned office outside Texas in Warner Robins when city leaders, including Mayor LaRhonda Patrick, joined the ribbon cutting. The 33,000 square foot facility on over eight acres near Robins Air Force Base will support advanced aerospace technology and electronic warfare research — paving the way for local innovation and job growth. - ➤ Pulaski County Sheriff Wayne Wiley said the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting in investigating a shooting at the intersection of Jelk-Gordon Street in Hawkinsville on Thursday evening after a Warner-Robins man was hit in the face by a stray bullet and taken to the hospital. WGXA

- ➤ Water was restored for 700 customers in Warner Robins after a major water main break occurred Tuesday near Watson Boulevard, exposing a 60-year-old pipe and causing a sinkhole—city crews quickly repaired the pipe and advised residents to run taps until the cloudy water cleared. 13WMAZ
- ➤ A full house gathered at First Baptist Church in Warner Robins on Wednesday night for the NAACP meet and greet event—featuring candidates for governor. WPGA
- ➤ The City of Warner Robins filled a 30-foot sinkhole on Watson Boulevard Thursday evening—restoring water service at about 6 p.m. for nearly 700 residents near Watson and Olympia Drive, while one eastbound lane remains closed until repairs are complete. WGXA
- ➤ On Tuesday, Aug. 19, Houston County Commissioners held public hearings on a new millage rate that will lower the base rate to 8.45 and raise the fire rate in unincorporated areas to 1.677, with a final vote set for Tuesday, Aug. 26 at 9 a.m. at the courthouse—at the same meeting, Sheriff Moulton gave a presentation on funding the Sheriff’s Youth Homes and announced the Sheriff Cullen Talton Memorial Golf Tournament will be held Sept. 29-30.
