CRIME NEWS

  • Eric Andrew Young, 40, was arrested after his Jeep Wrangler crashed into Truist Bank and Emory Healthcare on Aug 25 on Watson Boulevard—police said FLOCK camera footage and a witness video identified him, leading to two counts of second-degree criminal damage to property once his vehicle was later found at a Perry gas station.  The Houston Home Journal

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Chief Meteorologist Ryan Stinnett and WGXA hosted The Winning Academy for third through sixth graders at the studio where they learned about news, reporting and weather. The students toured behind the scenes—asking questions and listening to anchor Brittany Miller as they learned how a TV station works.  WGXA

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Georgia State Patrol and local law enforcement are urging travelers to drive safely during Labor Day weekend as officers will patrol highways from 6 p.m. Friday to Monday night—targeting speeding, texting, and DUI incidents. Sergeant Michael Strickland advises using a designated driver if drinking while Bibb County Sheriff David Davis warns that buzzed driving is drunk driving.  WGXA

  • Warner Robins beat Northside 22-13 in a fierce rivalry game as quarterback Chandler Dyson ran in the winning touchdown during Football Friday Night—continuing a nine-game win streak—while thirteen Central Georgia teams scored 40 or more points this week and several key matches will be played next week.  13WMAZ
