- ➤ The Houston County NAACP and local Terrance Gardner will host a youth empowerment event at Memorial Park on Saturday, Sept.6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.—the event will feature diverse speakers and unity activities such as free food and music to help encourage young people. The Houston Home Journal
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Houston County deputies tried stopping a stolen car in Warner Robins at 2:04 a.m. on Wednesday; when a suspect fled and fired his weapon, deputies returned fire that struck him, and he later died at Emory while a woman was promptly arrested—with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation reviewing the incident. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On Sept. 3, Rolling Thunder Georgia-3 rode into Thomson Middle School and raised a POW/MIA flag—dedicated to Army specialist Donald Randall Fowler—to honor soldiers missing in action. The group partnered with the Houston County School District and will place a flag at every school in the coming weeks. The Houston Home Journal
