- ➤ After Friday night’s 57-14 win over Tift County, the Houston County Bears finished the non-region schedule undefeated for the third time in four years under coach Jeremy Edwards—now the team will return from their bye week on Sept. 26 when they face Veterans at 7:30 p.m. The Houston Home Journal
- ➤ In Friday Night Football Roundup, Houston County won 57-14 over Tift County under coach Jeremy Edwards, keeping its undefeated record—while its defense limited the Blue Devils’ scoring. Northside lost 28-14 to Burke County, Perry improved with a 28-15 win led by JuJu Carswell’s second interception, Warner Robins was on a bye, and Westfield fell 20-19 in a close finish. - ➤ Houston County softball got back on track by sweeping Northside with an 18-1 win in Game 2 and an 11-2 win in Game 3—despite Northside putting up a strong fight. The team will travel for their next game on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 6 p.m. The Houston Home Journal
