  • The Southwest High School Marching Patriots were named Band of the Week by 41NBC today—Director Willie Hollins said the honor shows the band's strong teamwork and growth, backed by the Otis Redding Center for the Arts and Young America Music Schools.  41NBC

HEALTH NEWS

  • Atrium is raising awareness about pediatric sickle cell in Middle Georgia by informing families of its symptoms and screening methods—Dr. DeMoss noted that newborn tests usually catch it early, though some cases are missed.  41NBC
  • The Georgia Department of Public Health released food service inspection scores for Middle Georgia restaurants that were inspected from September 8—September 12. The report shows scores were grouped as unsatisfactory for 69 and below, satisfactory for 70 to 99, and perfect at 100.  41NBC
