  • MOMS Club of Warner Robins unveiled its upgraded food pantry on Oct. 7 in front of Between Friends Coffee to help local families in need. The pantry has operated for six years but was revamped to offer more space due to high demand—continuing its key mission of support.  The Houston Home Journal
  • The Warner Robins Fire Department is hosting its Winter Warmth clothing drive to collect winter clothing for Haven Hope House, a new shelter opening this fall. Donations of coats, gloves, blankets + other essentials can be dropped off at all fire stations from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. until Dec. 12.  The Houston Home Journal

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Federal workers at Robins Air Force Base will receive a paycheck tomorrow that covers work from Sept 21 to Oct 4 but omits pay for days worked in October—leaving many families uncertain about covering expenses. Local businesses and Warner Robins will offer relief by delaying utility payments and water shutoffs to help those affected by the shutdown.  13WMAZ

HEALTH NEWS

  • Atrium Health Navicent held its Mammogram Marathon on Oct 9 across Middle Georgia to boost breast health awareness during Breast Cancer Awareness Month with walk-in screenings available from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. A Mobile Mammography Coach will offer screenings outside Matilda Elementary School on Oct 15 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. for uninsured and underinsured patients.  WGXA

SPORTS NEWS

  • Westfield is the only Houston County team playing this week as it travels to Calvary Christian today for its first district road test. The Hornets are on a five-game win streak and will rely on strong plays from quarterback Braxton Wilkinson and receiver Johnson to boost their performance.  The Houston Home Journal
