  • Holy Pie! Pizzeria opened on Oct. 1 at 1818 Houston Lake Road in Perry and serves pizza, calzones, stromboli, salads, sandwiches, and sweet treats made from scratch. Owner Jake Watson said he opened this location to grow his business and help the community—focusing on quality and fresh ingredients.  The Houston Home Journal

CULTURE NEWS

  • Local organizations in Central Georgia have scheduled a range of Halloween events to offer residents festive choices. The events feature a Rocky Horror Picture Show musical in Macon on Oct. 29, ghost tours in Milledgeville on Oct. 29 and 31, trunk-or-treat in Dublin, trick-or-treat in Perry and Forsyth, and a Nevermore Hills Haunted Trail at the Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins on Oct. 30 and 31 from 8 to 11 p.m.  13WMAZ

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Georgia National Fair ended on Oct 12—drawing a record 612,706 visitors and featuring fair food, rides, live shows, and agriculture exhibits that boosted the regional economy. Gov. Brian Kemp served as the keynote speaker and organizers announced next year's fair will run from Oct 8 to Oct 18.  13WMAZ
