  • No Limit Baptist Church in Warner Robins is opening its doors to offer food, warmth, and shelter to those in need—freezing temperatures are prompting locals to seek help.  13WMAZ
  • New Hope Baptist Church’s food bank in Perry has seen a surge in visitors because a government shutdown and delayed benefits have increased local need, so volunteers now arrive at 7 a.m. to prepare food from local Publix and Kroger—adding extra help as families from several counties seek assistance.  The Houston Home Journal
  • Buzzard Drop in Perry has been nominated for Best New Year’s Eve Drop by USA Today for the third time—voters can cast one vote per day until Dec.1 at midnight and the event will take place on Dec.31 in Historic Downtown Perry with live entertainment, food trucks, and fireworks.  The Houston Home Journal

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Houston County Schools now require students to scan personal bus badges when boarding and exiting buses so that drivers and parents can track rides+ receive alerts for wrong stops.  13WMAZ

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Nov. 8, the Warner Robins Fire Department held a push-in ceremony at Station One to welcome a new 75-foot ladder truck that replaces a 27-year-old engine. City officials said the truck cost about $1.1 million with pre-owned savings of $900,000 (highlighting its role in faster emergency response).  The Houston Home Journal

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Georgia High School Association revealed proposed regions for the 2026-2028 cycle after Monday's meeting, placing Houston County, Northside, and Veterans in 6A while Perry and Warner Robins moved to 5A. Transfer requests will begin with a deadline on Sunday, Nov. 16 at 12 p.m.—appeal meetings are scheduled for Monday, Nov. 17 at 9:30 a.m.  The Houston Home Journal
