Brush fires have spread across Central Georgia as dry, windy conditions persist, with 14 fires reported since October—one on Homer Roberts Road in Jones County started as a controlled burn and is still smoldering.
Officials urge residents to use caution with debris burning and call 911 if they see any new fires.

Warner Robins approved a design contract with local firm JMA Architecture on November 3 to build a long-awaited Vietnam Veterans Memorial—using $128,000 from SPLOST funds after local bids were reviewed.
Mayor LaRhonda Patrick said the design is expected to be completed in about three months and will honor over 1,500 Georgia Vietnam Veterans.
