- ➤ Organizations in middle Georgia are hosting Christmas donation drives including clothing, toy, and food giveaways on various dates from Dec. 13 to Dec. 25 in venues such as community centers, churches (including Summer's Landing in Warner Robins) and nursing homes. WGXA
- ➤ Multiple community organizations are hosting the Clothing the G.A.P holiday drive for those in need tomorrow in Warner Robins. The event will collect clothing donations and offer support to local residents. WPGA
- ➤ Christmas at the Trails begins tomorrow at 6 p.m. in Houston County featuring a festive display of lights and inflatable decorations that supports raising funds for Hannah Bennett’s experimental treatment — families attend free while children pay $15 as donations help cover her $35,000 treatment cost. 13WMAZ
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Georgia Department of Education will provide Narcan kits to over 2,300 public schools by early next year as required by Wesley’s Law, while Bibb County schools already maintain kits (with staff trained on overdose response) to support rising safety needs. 13WMAZ
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The House passed a bill (raising service member pay by about 3.5%) that could boost the local economy at Robins Air Force Base. The Senate will review the proposal next. 13WMAZ
- ➤ Forecasters at Robins AFB use radar and satellite data to support pilot safety and guide decisions on local operations, including school closures during severe weather. They complete intensive training to accurately forecast conditions for both flight and community needs. WGXA
