- ➤ Tattnall Square Academy hosted its annual Kids' Yule Love toy drive on Friday, collecting unwrapped toy donations to help children in need have Christmas gifts. The event (in its 41st year) also taught students the value of giving back to the community. 41NBC
- ➤ Residents can pick up free trees today at the Warner Robins Native Plant Center from 9 a.m. to noon as part of a giveaway by Keep Warner Robins Beautiful. The event provides Oaks, Dogwoods, Red Buds + Sycamore trees, mulch and planting instructions with on-site arborist support. 13WMAZ
- ➤ Robins Air Force Base First Sergeant Council donated gifts to Feagin Mill Middle School on Friday to support 35 students and their siblings with clothing, shoes, toys, and a $500 donation for missing items through its Operation Warm Heart program. WPGA

- ➤ The Nutcracker of Middle Georgia celebrates its 40th anniversary season with performances at the Grand Opera House in Macon this weekend — Saturday shows are at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and the final performance is Sunday at 2:30 p.m. WGXA
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Houston County's Hilltop Elementary earned statewide honors today for its innovative 'Problem of the Month' that builds students' critical thinking skills with real-world puzzles+ the program shows hands-on learning in the classroom. 13WMAZ
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Houston County Fire and EMA have managed 5,300 calls this year amid rapid growth. New staff and trucks — including nine new firefighters covering all eight stations — will help improve response times as the county continues to grow. 13WMAZ
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Piedmont Primary Care opened a new clinic on Russell Parkway on Wednesday, Dec. 12 to offer checkups, exams and same-day appointments for families. The facility also provides online scheduling + video visits to give residents more convenient access to care. WGXA
