Friends of the Library are running a weekend-long book sale at the Georgia National Fairgrounds and in Macon’s Carolyn Crayton Park to raise funds for three Houston County libraries.

The sale has over 90,000 items priced from $0.50 & $3.00, with half-price days on Saturday and Sunday until 3 p.m.

Sparklight and Friends of Perry Animal Shelter held a pet adoption event and supply drive on Friday at 1357 Sam Nunn Blvd (donating $10 per new mobile line until month’s end) to help local animals find homes.

Sparklight Mobile also offers a free unlimited line for 12 months.
