- ➤ Today, Warner Robins hosts its annual Independence Day celebration at McConnell-Talbert Stadium with gates opening at 6 p.m. and musical acts including headliner Shelia E., Reputation—a Taylor Swift tribute band—and local band Rehab; crews are setting up the event and fireworks are scheduled to begin around 10:30 p.m.—no weapons or outside food are allowed at the stadium. - ➤ The city of Warner Robins invites local artists to submit high-resolution digital designs for its new 'Adopt-A-Box' program—intended to wrap utility boxes with art and bring color to the streets. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Macon man, Christopher J. Dismukes, pleaded guilty on Friday to child molestation for abusing a teen for two years in Bibb and Houston counties—he will serve 15 years in prison and five years of probation and must register as a sex offender for life. WGXA
- ➤ Christopher Thomas Smith, 34, of Warner Robins pleaded guilty to trafficking fentanyl and possessing a firearm during a felony on June 26; he was sentenced to 40 years — with 10 years in prison, 30 years on probation, a $100,000 fine and a ban from Houston County. The Houston Home Journal
- ➤ A traffic stop in Reynolds on Tuesday led to the arrest of 42-year-old Robert Slaton and 47-year-old Kelli Murphy—who gave a false name—with officers finding suspected methamphetamine and drug items and uncovering multiple outstanding felony warrants. 41NBC
